This masterclass will be focused on how to create cartoons in a simple and fast way, so you can use them on the job. In this 2 hour class you will learn how to make different expressions so you can make your cartoons come alive.

We will talk about:
1) Good versus evil
• Round vs angular
• Lines going up vs lines going down
• Big eyes vs small eyes
• Warm colors vs cool colors

2) 4 basic emotions and how to create them
• Happy, sad, angry, fearful
• Shape of eyebrows, going up or down
• Shape of mouth

3) Combining emotions
• Angry+happy=evil
• Where to find inspiration for more combinations

4) Different difficulty in eyeshapes
• How to go from simple to more elaborate depending on time and practice
• Use different shapes to create an expression like hearts, crosses or spirals

5) Time for questions

Products needed:
1. Pen and paper
2. Water
3. Facepaint
• Black and white for linework
• Different solid colors fort he shapes of the characters, in the designs I use pink in 2 shades, brown in 2 shades, green in 2 shades and red in 2 shades.
4. Round Brushes number 2 or 3, number 4 or 5 and a big filbert brush
5. Practice board or paper to practice on

Upon entering the Zoom session, all students will be muted. However, you are allowed to speak—simply raise your hand using the emoji in Zoom. When the moderator notices, they will unmute you. Please make sure that your question or comment is relevant to the instructor’s demonstration.

Once the class is over, if there is still time, the moderator will allow everyone to speak, ask questions, share opinions, and express gratitude to the instructor and fellow face painters.

4. Will I be able to ask questions?
