In this 2 hour class you will learn how to create your own animal facepaint designs. We will go through the steps of creating an animal facepainting design.

We will talk about:
1) The idea of how simplifying lines in pictures will help you to filter out all the unnecessary details so you can get a clear image in designing your own animal facepaint designs.
2) How you will be able to look at detailed pictures and will be able to simplify it to lines.
3) How to make the shapes in a design even more simple so you can easily remember and reproduce them on the job. We will talk about using a simple clock-design to help you.
4) How to recognize core points in different animals that you will have to use in a design to make them recognizeable
5) How to combine all this information and create your own animal facepaint design, how to adapt all the shapes to the face or how to apply all the shapes in a cartoony design.
6) Time for questions


Products needed:
- Pen and paper
- Water
- Facepaint
o Black and white for linework
o Different solid colors fort he shapes of the characters, in the designs I use yellow,
brown, grey and pink in 2 shades.

- Round Brushes number 2 or 3, number 4 or 5 and a big filbert brush
- Sponges
- Practice board or paper to practice on
- Insert sleeve 23 rings and a white sheet of paper in it.
- A picture of an animal you would like to paint.

Mara Zegers from ‘Make Art Really Amazing’ will show you how to create your own designs with different characters by changing little things in the face and give the design many expressions. Mara is a professional facepainter from the Netherlands.
She has been facepainting for many years and has been teaching classes on FabaTV and the online Halloween summit of the International Facepainting school. Her work has been featured in magazines like Qmagazine and Wet Paint magazine.

4. Will I be able to ask questions?
